In hindsight, when "I Am.." was filmed, I really did not know who I was in Christ.
To an extent I think I did, however I had not even begun to scratch the surface of who I was as an individual in Him.
I knew that God had spoken to me and told me to do "I Am..", but isn't it funny how God used me to get people to declare who they are in Him when I did not even know who I truly was in Him?
As I mention in the video below, from filming to editing to releasing "I Am.." I really felt as if God had brought a mirror up close and personal to me; revealing to me my past, present and my future - with and without Him. #MirrorMirror.
It led me to a place where in order to grow, I really had to be vulnerable and open and honest to God and those close to me.
I really had to question who I was/who I am as an individual...
Who is the Chidi who does not pray or worship or read her bible?
Who is the Chidi who drinks/smokes/sleeps around for fun?
Who is the Chidi who serves and volunteers in the house of God?
Who is the Chidi who does mycameragodandi?
Can I be friends with the same type of people who I use to be out clubbing and doing all kinds of things with, can I bring those people alongside me on this journey? Or do they like me better when I'm in the club?
Do they like me better when I'm lost, broken and insecure? Or can I actually be the confident person that God has called me to be?
I really questioned who I was and what I enjoyed with Christ and then again without Him.
By the time I eventually released "I Am.." I realised that
I AM FREE!
free
adjective
1) able to act or be done as one wishes; not under the control of another.
2) not or no longer confined or imprisoned.
In every sense of the word: no longer attached or weighed down to my past behaviour or mistakes or toxic relationships, free to be who I was created to be in Christ! Free to worship! Unashamed.
I know that I've still got a way to go, but I also know that I am so much better off now, than from where I started.
If after watching "I Am.." you start to question who you are, the same way that I did. Go back to God and ask Him to reveal you to you, so that you know what it is that you need to work on in order to grow and move forward.
Get yourself to a praying church and surround yourself with praying people - it really does make all the difference!
"And I am certain that God, who began the good work within me, will continue His work until it is finally finished.."
-Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
I pray the same for every single person who reads/watches this and understands what I am talking about!
Until next time - stay blessed,
